Latest posts to be added to the front page to overview new posts and to instantly be up to date with any added threads.
It's more engaging to see interesting topics, and minimises navigating.
Although categories are structured, users rarely stick to just one topic to go straight to specific discussion category.

Yeah, latest posts need to be added on to the front page. Can't see wtf is going on across the site if it's spread across the page.
