Record flights - 23 July 2026
#1
With the recent fuel shortage you would think transportation, especially flights would decrease.

Nope, 23rd of July was a record for a number of flights - 153,359 commercial flights in 24 hours.

Previous record was set in 2023, surprisingly also in July (13th).

"Why so many flights?" you would ask. It's peak holiday time with cheaper flights - summer in the Northern hemisphere, school holidays, enough leave days accumulated at work.

It's interesting to think how many people are flying for various reasons. That's about 20 million people changing location in a single day!

Such capacity of flights can move billion people in just 50 days.
