The goal of social media is to connect everyone and make as big of an impact as possible.
It's like going to a shopping mall on a Saturday, everyday.
How about going to a place far away from any malls, bright lights and noise?
I think with the use of the internet everyone finds their favourite platforms. Discord often functions like a realtime forum with their "channels". But coming across a good community that is less focused on gaming and more on everyday living is more rare due to the age gap and interests. Those on Discord often join because of live voice chat for gaming.
At some point we grow out of things and communities change. After going through your growing up stage, maybe there should be something more to explore in real life.
