  Hollywood and identity politics
Posted by: BoxPressured - 07-01-2026, 09:05 PM - Forum: Movies - Replies (1)

Hollywood likes to be up to date with identity politics and is regulated by:

  • AMPAS - overall benchmarks of diversity, main one.
  • Time’s Up - workspace diversity representation
  • Color of Change Hollywood - what races to have on screen
  • GLAAD - the LGBTQ+ representation

Regulating stories using quotas has been proven to not work, yet it happened this June 2026.

While organizations that manage/insist on quotas make minor requests, the subtle changes shift the whole point and perspective.

I haven't seen Supergirl, but many have noted that the performance is tainted with ideologies that make the character undesirable to watch.

Men and women have been developing various outlooks on each other with the help of social meadia brainwashing, what to think about one another and how to approach various behaviours, and most of all how to devalue another human. All you need is a flag (of red kind).

If you're mostly living in digital space, the sorrow and hatred can be easily manipulated by an opinion and "open hearted" negative comments made to spite others because of personal dissatisfaction. The movie may represent current state and outlook on expected modern behaviour, which in itself is honest though falsely built. But the backlash is also honest - no one likes to be given a template of behaviours that promote rudeness, misbehavior, indiscipline, then publically reduce male audiences.

Once men turn salty, you will know..

Various things were pushed on guys in the last 15-20 years. And it seems that they're running out of things that men can put up with. Hollywood's mistake is letting young stars speak about anything gender related. Young generation, especially movie stars will never have healthy understanding of relationships.

On the other side, I think guys are taking shots because no one was actually going to see the movie. Why would mostly single young generation of guys go to watch a female superhero movie about herself? Who goes to cinemas even?

Hollywood has been making movies for 110 years, somehow they can't read their audience. If it's not relatable, emotional, intriguing or inspirational, and instead focuses on identity politics to teach how super strenth makes you indifferent to everything including yourself, holding a bottle and going forward is a role model for a family movie.. maybe it's not a good idea.

Snow white type of movie vibes where the movie release doesn't go as planned. A diverse snow white was an obvious blunder that was too big to swallow..

  European heatwave June 2026
Posted by: BoxPressured - 07-01-2026, 07:55 PM - Forum: Events - No Replies

Peak Temperature records were broken in European countries, including:

  • 45.1°C in Spain,
  • 43.8°C in France,
  • 41.7°C in Germany, and
  • 41.9°C in the Czech Republic.

Excess mortality is linked to extreme heat stress, with France recording ~1,000 deaths and Spain over 327 deaths as of late June 2026.

As always, news articles or general reporting will nudge saying that "top-scientists" have concluded it's unequivocally caused by human-made climate change. The topic, however is highly regulated and often used as an excuse to reduce consumption. Those scientists are put there for a reason, and I'm certain they have to deal with politics when it comes to wording the reports.

It's used to be called "Global Warming" until people started to question why winters are colder as well. Then "Global Warming" got phased out by "Climate Change".

Due to political commitments it makes sense to sway data to desired side. What is never mentioned, is that climate has alway been changing. The planet was never a prestinely perfect environment.

While Europe is experiencing heatwaves, part of Russia that normally has 25-30C in summer, had snowfall in the middle of summertime (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZ2S7Y3MF8d/). Although it can be argued that it's quiet harsh weather there, still, the weather cannot be expected to be 100% predictable.

Other variable that is not often mentioned is the activity of the sun. Every 11 years or so, it ramps up the flares like in recent days. Sunspots that can release the flares were present 98% of the time in 2026 so far (compared to 7 years ago - when they were present only 33% of the year). But it's normal behaviour for the sun as it flips it's poles (north becomes south and vice versa), releases solar flares and goes quiet until ramping up again. Check something like https://www.spaceweather.com/ to see how the sun changes on daily basis.

It's interesting to consider how our main source of warmth is behaving, which is often left out entirely to not go against the agenda. Can we not politicise our home star and use scientific data for understanding and educating rather than use it to direct flow of money?

In short, climate change will always be there, so are politicians to take advantage of climate events for their narratives.

As kids we've done that, when a teeny-tiny lie can be overseen just to get you out of trouble or get your own way. Unfortunantely tactics of a 5 year old are used to make everyday people believe things that are not quiet there, nor there's anyone that makes it interesting to consider more than one side of the story, because it's literally danger to their life to explore understanding there.

Also attached is an article from Dailymail that sniffs out a bit of manipulation, but "all scientists" that are never named dismiss the claims of data manipulation.

Food for thought.

  Navigating AI future
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-29-2026, 04:53 PM - Forum: Career - No Replies

I'm in a career that AI doesn't influence that much, but with now few years of AI dominating the headlines, it stills begs the question where it will be used or abused next.

AI acts of input of information and using a prompt provides the result. So it's easy more or less to anticipate where it will lean as new technology arrives.

e.g. Neuralink + AI. Both are being integrated between each other to allow for control of information created/thoughts. Next stage will likely be to influence the brain to react to the chip's "result". To create new memories, visions or feelings.

At any point when technology or external influence is applied, that should ring a bell to individuals as influence of their willpower which they're surrendering. It might be obvious at first, but with time, just like with mobile phones people will still fall for the trap "willingly". That would be not because they're deciding to, but no one taught them otherwise.

I think AI is likely to be made to take not only some of the work, but parts of life, just like with art, it will be integrated everywhere until it's more useful and seen as superior to any human in those areas.

But that's primarily economical. As the vise tightens, everyone will be forced to recognize human value in things, mostly people that are close and experiences with them. Advancement at some degree will cause separation of AI and self, due to vast advancement that won't be understood or that useful to everyday people. It's technology that will go beyond our reach.

Although national grids are "99%" reliable, funny enough, new nuclear powerplants are proposed to keep datacenters going which will be the edge to make them reliably powered for decades at a time. Corporations and countries will prioritize advancement of AI and reliability and very likely to achieve great things at great cost.

Some red lines will be drawn for themselves just to see how far they can go, of course not considering any negative influence to humanity, only promoting liberation from workload and care and saving money. But when everyone is using the same "time-saving" tools, less people are made to produce more, reduce prices, and less people benefit from doing work which is being phased out. In economic field, AI gives a short boost, but long term there's not much benefit to collective, except for medical filed.

One of great advantages of AI is that it can be trained to identify problems and provide accurate solutions, unlike self-diagnosis using a search engine few years ago that always went wrong and misdiagnosed, just because some pages were more popular or had better SEO, rather than accurate.

I had a personal experience to attest to increased accuracy. A relative of mine got various symptoms that I described and asked it to suggest a diagnosis, to my surprise, that's what the doctors have found. And it wasn't an everyday illness, not something that I've heard about before.

So the benefit is there in the medical, content generation (although often more misused or used just because lack of effort), various engineering. Biology is the tricky one that will likely make some good and bad headlines. Some AI models are becoming more capable of reasoning that can step into creativity and make new discoveries. Completely digitizing bio-lab will likely make immense advancements.. for profit and domination of course. Well, we may get limb regeneration at some point, or "universal" vaccines, but only when it can't be held onto due to competition between corporations and countries.

It is promised to give us all the solutions, but I see that it's a new era of problems as well, which will extend it's reach over individuals' lives and decisions.

Are there known interesting developments that are on the horizon that will shake up the humanity?

  Doomscrolling
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-15-2026, 10:29 PM - Forum: Psychological - No Replies

It's easier than ever to reach for your phone for no reason whatsoever.

YouTube or tiktok are made to make you feel in touch with global reality, while keeping you entertained.

While it seems harmless, we don't realize how much time it goes on just staring at your phone. I would challenge you to enable digital well-being tracking app and see how many hours you spend.

First step is to realize the problem is there. No matter what your daily usage is, ask yourself if the time was well spent.

Be it, 3 or 7 hours on the weekend, that is way more than considerable amount of time that is dedicated to nothing but watching garbage. It's well known to the platforms how they do their job so well that it's considered manipulation of attention. They are designed to pretty much hack your mind to keep you interested and entertained.

Maybe after seeing how much time you spend on daily basis, you will realize how much potential is wasted.

When you look up something on YouTube that you're interested in, new tailored suggestion is already loaded for you. God forbid you open shorts or tiktok, and you find yourself on the train with endless tracks.

Your second step is action. You are in charge of that scrolling. What can you do for yourself, to fill that time? You can try to deassociate yourself from your liked videos and comment contributions, what's the fact that it stay and is always waiting for you at any moment you pick up your phone, calls for deliberate rejection of temptation.

When you feel like you need another hit, your hand is already in the pocket ready to open that app.

It takes some adjusting, as soon as you find the substitute, you begin to migrate.

Your substitutes must be good for you. The best thing to think about straight away - are your plans, and tasks at hand. If it's your free time, make sure to have a project to go to. If it's at work, it's easy - just get to work, because that's what you're there to do.

Being aware of your pitfalls, gives you the power to influence them.

You will see that with more power you can break any chains you put yourself into.

Whatever is keeping you entertained on those apps, just realize that they are there just for your consumption. Even reports of global events, are made to be consumed. Often even instilling fear that if you miss out, then you will be in the worse position. And for a common person it's not easy to be distinguish what can be serious, or another black hole of attention.

Is best to practice to be aware how not to get sucked in, value your attention.

Major changes in modern living without adjustments to education
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-15-2026, 08:56 PM - Forum: Career - No Replies

I finished my studies that I wanted to do, which one may imagine helped to develop.

But watching the world change, introduce AI, one begs the question - what are the consequences of keeping kids in the same system that teaches less than basics about life itself, while the world changes so much?

It seems that the biggest mission of educational facilities is to keep everyone organized like sardines, but where is the use when it's so uniform? Every individual is so different, with many talents that are thrown aside to complete not so practical work.

The facilities are there, but has anyone considered efficiency or interests of the students?

Question What are not so well known things that are happening?
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-15-2026, 08:45 PM - Forum: Casual & Off Topic - No Replies

I like to stay in the loop, and watch out for recent or new developments, but have come to realise that many events are politicized or "new policies" that are being enforced.

It's not hard to imagine various ideas and pretty much cults forming with their own collective opinions or conspiracies.

My guess is that economic conspiracies are always there with the slightest hickup in trading. UFO guys reimerge every now and then with "new evidence". Looking at those things, it's easy to try to understand, but they often leave out any undeniable proof. It's a carefully constructed pyramid of logic that seems to lead to the conclusion, but never getting there.

Besides far fetched conspiracies, what are some of the less known, and well arguable things we don't know?

  Upcoming Games
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-15-2026, 07:42 PM - Forum: Games - No Replies

The list for a year's of games is crazy - Wikipedia 2026 Game Release Dates

The list includes all the platforms - portable, mobile, console, PC.

I would be happy with a single good game, but it's hard to anticipate something good when all the focus is on realism and not a novel way of gameplay.

Any gamers here?

Information What interesting platforms are there?
Posted by: BoxPressured - 06-15-2026, 07:33 PM - Forum: Internet Culture - Replies (1)

I've tried varius platforms that are popular - twitter, Reddit, facebook.

But they also attract individuals that will say or do anything to get positive reaction or to spew raw hate.

What platforms/sites that can be coonsidered more civilized or less of a trainwreck that can be enjoyable to read?
